Mark Holmgren

attorney mark holmgren

Mark Holmgren is the only community association attorney in Arizona with the CLMP designation. Mr. Holmgren is an experienced, seasoned litigator with 20 years of experience, 15 of which has been spent litigating complex construction defect cases and representing community associations. Mr. Holmgren’s community association experience includes litigation of everything from hate speech to embezzlement and providing advice to association directors on a wide variety of issues. Mr. Holmgren also has extensive appellate experience.

Mr. Holmgren began representing community associations in 2003 when he joined the multi-state firm of Duke Gerstel Shearer, LLP. This work included general counsel work, complex construction defect litigation, and class actions for individual homeowners. Mr. Holmgren eventually managed that firm’s Arizona office. In 2004, Mr. Holmgren was recruited by the Law Offices of John Chaix, PC, where he continued his plaintiffs’ construction defect practice. In 2007, Mr. Holmgren was recruited by Carpenter, Hazlewood, Delgado & Bolen, PLC, where he represented homeowners associations, condominiums, and individual homeowners in myriad types of disputes, but with an emphasis on construction defect litigation.

Mr. Holmgren began his insurance defense practice while at Carpenter Hazlewood. By 2011, he was a partner of the firm and the insurance defense practice group leader, working to grow the practice by closing cases quickly, efficiently, and by getting outcomes that were good for both the insured and the carrier. Mr. Holmgren continues that practice with Goodman Law Group.

In 2018, Mr. Holmgren attended the CLM Litigation Management Institute, and is now the only community association attorney in the State of Arizona who bears the CLMP designation.

Mr. Holmgren was admitted to the practice of law in Arizona in 1999, in Oregon in 2007, and in New Mexico in 2013.
