Maura Abernethy
Maura joined the Goodman Law team as Partner in 2016. Currently, Maura is Of Council with Goodman Law focusing on general counsel and collections. Prior to joining Goodman Law, Maura’s legal career was exclusively focused in representing homeowners’ associations. Maura briefly left the industry in 2010 to work at a start-up company where she served as the program manager for large-scale global leadership development initiatives. In 2014, Maura founded Abernethy Law where she provided legal advice to small and mid-size businesses related to contracts, business formation, mediation, governance, and real estate matters.
Bar Admissions
Maura was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 2001. She is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court of Arizona – District of Arizona.
Education
Maura earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, she was on the Dean’s list. She has completed advanced coursework in mediation/alternative dispute resolution at the New Mexico School of Law in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Maura is an experienced instructor in the field of legal topics affecting homeowners’ associations in Arizona. In the past, Maura has been a licensed Realtor.
